On-Body Edge Computing Through E-Textile Programmable Logic Array

E-textiles have received tremendous attention in recent years due to the capability of integrating sensors into a garment, enabling high-precision sensing human body. Besides sensing, number solutions for e-textile garments also integrated wireless interfaces, allowing data be transmitted, and inbuilt capacitive touch sensors, users provide instructions. While this has provided new level that can result unprecedented applications, there been little placed around on-body edge computing e-textiles. This study focuses on need noninvasive remote health-monitoring solution with computing, how such capabilities fabric environment act as method healthcare monitoring through use embedded intelligence smart garments. Facilitating e-textiles form where sensor information is processed very close body before being transmitted an external device or access point. security privacy and, at same time, opportunities energy-harvesting mechanisms process garment. proposes concept embroidered programmable logic arrays (PLAs) In way PLAs circuits by interconnecting different AND, NOT, OR gates, we propose e-textile–based gates are sewn garment connected conductive thread stitching. Two designs proposed, includes single- multi-layered PLAs. Experimental validations conducted individual entire PLA determine voltage utilization reliability. The multilayered superseded single-layered higher levels accuracy yielded results enhanced design layout, which reduces potential short errors occurring. Our proposed approach usher future wearable technologies, particular, current pandemic requires applications.
